BAD BOYS
WHO YOU BARKIN' AT?
All you guys should read this....

Painfully at Daytona I observed a lot of what most people consider abuse! Being so close to so many of you I hear and see more than I would like too. What am I seeing? A good handful of you are absolutely chastizing your wives/girlfriends or both over minor things. Talking down to them like they are stupid.... trust me they aren't.

This is not going to get you a trophy or a championship. It may leave you sleeping in the garage with your motorcycle and the dog. Just because you are having fun doesn't mean everyone else is. The team is taking days off, paying for food, motels, doing the driving, working on your bike and for what? Not a lot!

Let's face it if you scream at one of your buddies, you are going to be trying to push a bike without rims on it or eating the business end of a large 27mm wrench or worse... pulling it out of your rear end.

So, what makes you think its okay to jump all over the little lady who got you to the track, makes your lunch and tries to help you in your efforts? Chances are she is also paying for a lot of your fun. Think about it!

Let's face it, you may be a great rider and sure there are a lot of ladies out there, BUT... are there any who will put up with your crap? Not many! Its your job to be productive. Barking at the ladies is not going to make you achieve your goals. Think before you open that flapper you call a mouth.

Keep in mind that everyone has a level of absorbsion. When that level is reached something has to give. Your pit crew, your buddy or your woman is still an intergral part of the total package. If you annoy them too much or act like they are your servants, chances are you are going to be going through a transition program in the forseable future. To avoid this all you have to do is be a little nicer, more understanding and bite your tongue before blasting off in someone's face.

Trust the old guy on this. Life at the race track and at home will be much better if you learn to adjust your tone and your attitude. The old adage, " you get more with honey" works.
