Cyclespace.com Jumps into Racing with AMA/WERA Team Sponsorship

ATLANTA, Ga. – In a bold move to show their commitment to motorcycle riders of all disciplines, Cyclespace.com, the internet’s hottest online community for motorcycle enthusiasts, has entered the American roadracing paddock.  Cyclespace.com will be sponsoring an exciting group of established personnel, from race team owners to a crew chief, mechanics and racers in the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

Cyclespace.com will feature three hungry riders on Pirelli tires looking to put their mark on American roadracing with plans to compete in the entire AMA Superbike and WERA National Challenge Series.  Canadian Series front runner Clint McBain, up and coming American pro Keith Marshall, and talented American racer Skip Salenius will all be on the CycleSpace roster.

Cyclespace.com joins Pro-Line Race Prep owner Vinnie Devita, who has partnered with Team Embry owner Mike Embry and combined resources to put together a crew and rider line-up that has speed, talent, dedication, heart, and the will to win for the 2007-2008 race seasons.  This new team sponsored by Cyclespace.com has evolved from the relationship between Pro-Line racer Skip Salenius and Cyclespace.com owners Jeremy Wolfe and Chad Wolfe. The wheels started rolling when Team Embry rider Keith Marshall was recovering from a mid-season injury and lining up his race season finale for the 2006 WERA GNF.

Clint McBain, former Canadian National 600 Champion, about joining this new up and coming team:
“I’ve always wanted to compete more in the US, but with my former team, in Canada, it was difficult. When I got the email from Vinnie, and heard the team’s plans and how they considered me, I felt it was a perfect match.  I will be racing the same bike as I race in Canada, a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R1000, with the same Pirelli tires, and the same suspension tuned by Joe Skidd, so it should make my transition into a new team about as easy as it can possibly be.  It also helps that I have two great teammates in Keith and Skip, and I’m sure we will all be able to work together to get the best possible results for the team and sponsors.
“I honestly think the biggest challenge for me is going to be all the new tracks, but with Vinnie from Pro-Line Race Prep preparing my bike and my mechanic from Canada (Patrice Goyette) along with me, I’m sure we will be ready for any and all challenges.
“I’m really looking forward to meeting my new team, and would like to say thanks to Vinnie, Mike, Keith, Skip and the guys at Cyclespace.com, for giving me this opportunity. Thanks.”

Keith Marshall explains how it all came together:
“I had been working with Matt Drucker of MD Racing for the 2006 season and he did a great job for me; however, the birth of his second child coincided with the Suzuki Cup Races and WERA GNF.  This left me with a tough decision: I had to put in a strong ride to end the season on top and I needed a solid crew chief, someone who could step right in and get everything done I needed.  I had been impressed with Vinnie at Pro-Line throughout the season, and he was strongly recommended by his team rider, Skip Salenius, along with every other person I spoke with.  Luckily he was able to come on board and help me out.
“The weekend was great: we finished with a 3rd, 4th, and 5th (B Superstock, Suzuki Cup 750 and Suzuki Cup 600, respectively).  One race I even started 28th and the Pro-Line bike was such a rocket and so easy to ride with Thermosman’s suspension and Vinnie’s tuning that I was able to get on the podium and it just felt great!  It was a great experience all around and I am looking forward to the next two seasons to be an extension of that weekend.  I am just thrilled to have the continued support from Mike Embry along with the addition of Vinnie Devita of Pro-Line – these are the guys making it all happen – along with Skip, who did such a great job last year for Pro-Line that he attracted the owners of Cyclespace.com and a talented veteran like Clint McBain to hopefully give me some tips on the new Suzuki GSX-R1000.
“It’s nice to be part of such a new, exciting team.  All of the sponsors that are backing the team have just stepped up big time; the support is just phenomenal.  These are the products that make racing happen.  And I can’t say enough about the entire staff at CycleSpace – I was impressed the minute I met them.  Their plans for the entire motorcycling community are very exciting.  They will be a huge presence in American motorcycling of all types; racing is only about a tenth of what they have in store.  Between bike week, rallies, motocross, stunt wars, trail riding, I mean it goes on and on, these guys are there for EVERY discipline of riding nationwide.  This is going to be a great few seasons!”

Skip Salenius explains how his relationship with the Cyclespace.com owners attracted the sponsorship:
“The owners of CycleSpace really want to support all aspects of the motorcycling community nationwide and this is just their first step.  They (CycleSpace) came to see what it was all about at the ASRA/CCS Final at Daytona in October to get their feet wet. CycleSpace has been covering many different aspects of racing through CycleSpace TV which can be viewed on the website. They plan to continue to raise the bar this season with their race team coverage.”

Cyclespace.com - Pro-Line/Embry Racing kicks off their season during the opening AMA Pro Racing event at Daytona from March 7-10.  The team’s riders and bikes will be at the Dealer Expo in Indianapolis this weekend, and at the International Motorcycle Show in Atlanta from February 23-25.
