From: Jim & Tonya Hiscott and the crew at Cheetah Racing Bodies:

Hearing the news about Jamie was not taken easily, After work I went over to my friends house Greg Richards, he has a satellite dish and I knew he would have the results of the Laguna Seca race, as soon as I walked in the door he said to me "Jim, Jamie Bowman was killed at Laguna Seca in practice."

I Ran back out the door in Gregs garage where he keeps his race bike and I store mine as well and immediately broke down into tears, and was in total shock, just a couple of months ago I was at R&R Racing in West Palm Beach looking at the new KTM dirt bike Jamie had just purchased, all the guy's there including Jamie where laughing about what a awsome deal Jamie got on the new KTM, Jamie could'nt wait to take the new KTM out for its first run, he said he was going to take it out to the MX track in Okeechobee Fl and see how the new 4-stroke KTM would do.

I have been going out to the Okeechobee MX track frequently lately to let my son Garyn who is 16 now ride his 96" Honda CR250 we purchased from Mike Ciccotto a while back. We watched Jamie ride his MX bike at Okeechobee and he was poetry in motion, Jamie couild ride a dirt bike with the best of them, My son said to me, "I hope I can ride as good as Jamie some day."

Jamie was doing what he loved, what he did best, he was an exceptional rider. Jamie left a lasting impression on all whom he spoke to, he always had a smile on his face, always willing to share his time with whomever wanted to talk to him.

My wife Tonya had the honor to meet Jamie at this years Daytona 200. As always we walked up to Jamie to talk to him and he made time to speak with us, Jamie was never to busy when it came to his friends, I introduced him to my wife and got a great photo of them standing together at the Daytona 200 race, the photo resides in my computers photo gallery where it will for ever remain, this photo means alot to me but I will share it with anyone who wants a copy of it, just E-Mail me at Cheta752@aol.com and I will get it out to you ASAP!

In my opinion Jamie was a man of impeccable character and was a good friend. Jamie will always be in our hearts and never forgotten.

We miss you Jamie.

I am so sad I can't tell you. I love those guys Jon-o and Jamie, the old man too. I always watched to see results on how he did and where he did it. He was a hero to me, he had the talent and a quiet unassuming guy like DJ, was always polite to me anyway I'm sure to most also.

Being a cornerworker you have to be pretty unbiased toward every racer and you should help the guy you don't know as wella as the ones you like. people that touch your lives like that as a family causeI never had one being an only child you kinda think of these kids as yours you wanna run after them and lay a big pillow down when they fall, call the hospital etc. check up, so it's kinda like losin one of mine in another kinda way at any rate its like takin away my own kid.

My god I'm so sorry

I was fortunate enough to know Jamie Bowman as a close friend. He was one of the most determined riders that I have come across. Rarely was he without that contagious patented smile and addictive personality. Kim and I at Reaction Times Motorsports Show recently interviewed Jamie at Road Atlanta.

We will be including that interview along with a special dedication segment in our next show. Jamie was not only a fellow racer he was an endless fountain of energy who maintained a positive attitude throughout the good and the bad. Jamie knew that racing was not about sponsors, lap times or even winning, he realized it was about people.

I can only believe that now he is turning his best lap times ever, for he is traveling at Godspeed. From all of us at Reaction Times he has a permanently reserved place in our hearts and his memory will live on forever. God bless my good friend Jamie Bowman.

We love ya,

Joe,

We got the news Saturday afternoon at Blackhawk Farms just before the start of the auction so needless to say the event started with a moment of silence for Jamie.

I don't know if that had people thinking and spending more, but we set a record again this year and raised just under $13,000 for the fund.

If there's anything we can do for Jamie's family, let me know.

The dark side of this sport hits again and it doesn't get any easier does it? Jamie is in our thoughts and prayers.

Take care Joe.................

Your friend,

Hey Joe, I'm sorry the first time I contact you is over such tragic news. I'm still in shock over what has happened. I didn't hear about the accident until today (Tuesday). It's ironic that I finally opened up my web-site just yesterday and the highest percentage of pictures are of Jamie. I also have more of Bowman which are not uploaded yet. Please take a look and if you want to use any of the photo's for a tribute or other purpose, let me know. Pass this link on to whoever might be interested, I will send a photo file of Jamie to anyone who would like one.

Thanks Joe, Michael Crepeau -Shooter-

Joe,

Is there anything we racers can do for Jamie's family? Any donations to charity or for a memorial of some kind? Please post it on the website if there's anything we can do.

This is just so hard to believe...

Remembering Jamie

I thought of what you could say... to make people smile on a day like today.

From his custom Cow Leathers to his curious grin, Jamie was more than a friend.

Rember the stowaway rat and the miles they had gone, he was move desperate than Jamie too get off that farm.

From Bowman cam questions like... you met that girl in the hotel hall or its only three extra hours to Niagra Falls!

From things we made Todd do, things Dave couldn't handle, Tommy always kissing up, or more of Luke's scandal.

Who's on the phone with Barney? You know it's his girl.. unhooking himself from traction to chase my flying squirrel!

The miles we have driven, all the broken bones, and the long distance calls on our telephones.

This is not how we wanted to spend this day... but, Jamie always made you smile that way!

WE ARE GOING TO MISS YOU..... FLYING J

Kent and Tracey Soignier - GMD Computrack

The last time we saw you was at Jamie's funeral. That was a very hard time for all involved. It was amazing to Kent and myself how many people were present at the viewing, the service and the get together afterwards. Jamie was very loved by everyone he came in contact with. He had that special way of touching your heart.

Over the last three years we became very close to the Bowman family both personally and professionally. This news crushed us to the point that we cancelled our trip to Mid-Ohio, opting to spend time with the Bowman's instead. We are so glad we did. We would like to send a special thanks to Uncle Bill and Aunt Dari for their hospitiality.

Our hearts go out to the entire Bowman family (which included the extended racetrack family). We will miss Jamie a bunch. Godspeed Dear Friend
