Wayne's Thoughts on Jeremy

Dear Joe,

My name is Wayne Fuller. I was Jeremy's best friend and roommate and the time of his death. Words can't express what I am feeling now. It was very hard to be at homestead and not see Steiner whipping ass and being on the podium. If you don't know me I was the guy that came up to you after the awards ceremony and asked you if you had that picture of you and Steiner while you were interviewing him after one of his many wins.

I don't know if this will make it any easier on you, but he thought a great deal of you and what you were doing for the sport and him. He got a big laugh out of you calling him the "Steiner recliner". He loved it. You meant a lot to him. He had the utmost deepest respect for you.

It wasn't easy trying to convince my girlfriend to let Steiner live with us. She finally came around. Its hard to find someone that clicks with your girlfriend and you, but it worked. He became a part of our little family and we loved him dearly. He was a great friend, I thought of him like a brother. Sorry if I am rambling on, I just thought you would like to hear this.

Steiner loved life and wanted to live it to its fullest. He did that with you guys and his racing. He took it very seriously. I wish you could have known him outside of the track. What a tremendous guy!

Besides racing, he loved to mountain bike, snow ski, help pit crew on a race car, go to the beach, and hang out with a close group of friends.
We all loved him, our little close group of friends. It is extremely hard to move on. But we must. I know in my heart that is what Steiner wants. Its not going to be the same hanging out with our friends again. It will seem quiet and empty.

Thanks for the write up about him. It was very very good. He would of liked it. God bless you. Like you say Steiner is gone but he will never be forgotten.
Sincerely,
Wayne Fuller
