Blown Away Racing
May 1, 2005. My first race on the Yamaha R6 went better than I expected. The first race of the day on the R6 was the Middleweight SuperSport. I started on the 6th row and made my way up to 8th position. I felt I could have ran better if it was not for the bad head shake down the backstretch. We found out it was the rain tires; they are a different height than the DOT tires (we are learning). Second race of the day on the R6 was Middleweight Superbike, had me sitting on row 3. With suspension adjustments, bike handled much better; made my way up to 4th position with the leaders still in sight. I was very happy about that finish; my goal was a top 10 finish. Third race of the day on the R6 was the Unlimited GP with me starting on row 5. I had the best start of the day and got ran out wide exiting turn 1 and ran off putting me back to 28th position. I ran as fast as I could on a green track and ended up 16th, running 2 tenths off second places fastest lap.
My first race of the day was on the RS125 in GT Lights. The race started with rain coming down hard. I started on the 4th row. By the time we came out of turn 1 I was in 2nd position, then by turn 10 I was in the lead and lead the rest of the race to a 52 second race win.
I would have never been able to do it without the help from the following people. My Mom and Dad, Steve Liberatore @Yamaha, Bill Brown @Jennings GP, Blown Away Racing, Sharkskinz, Champions Yamaha, Michelin, VPFuels, HJC, GP Customs, Vortex, Engine Ice, K&P Cycles, Photo One, Pro Image Graphics.

Blown Away Racing
4/22/05
Well I stepped up to the plate and got a 2005 R6 with support from Steve Liberatore at Yamaha and Dave McPherson at Champions Yamaha. Also Ron Wood at Michelin for the tires.
Saturday April 16, 2005 I went up to Jennings GP to test the bike. Saturday I went out and was a little nervous but it was not real hard to figure out the engine breaking. On my third lap I was already doing 1:22's and by the end of the day I was down to the 1:20's.
On Sunday we started doing some suspension work. I didn't think I would be able to get under the 1:20 because the rear would go all over because of the stock shock. I finally had Mark Brown on the track with me pushing me and I was running consistent 1:19.8, Then I ran a 1:19.6 chasing down Frank Trombino, got him on the outside of 7 (he was breaking in his motor).
I was thrilled that I would catch on to the bike that fast and I was amazed that I was running those times on a all stock R6 only modification was the Sharkskinz bodywork. Have an exhaust system coming from Steve at Yamaha and an Ohlin's rear shock and Ohlin's revalued front forks from Thermos Man. I just want to say thank you to all my sponsors for all there help and suppport.
